Stephen Graham

Stephen provides taxation and accounting advice to a broad range of clients and industries including clients from the primary sector (e.g farming, forestry and sawmilling), retail, manufacturing and property. He is experienced in Corporate Finance including due diligence for business acquisitions, business valuations and business structural advice.

Stephen has a particular interest in business start-ups and succession planning. Being a BDO Accredited Family Business Adviser and the Chair of the BDO Family Business Discussion Group enables him to work closely with small-medium business owners to meet their personal and business goals, including successfully implementing family business succession plans.

After more than 24 years at BDO Rotorua, Stephen has become a trusted advisor to a number of long term clients including multiple generations of families, his clients appreciate Stephen’s honest, authentic and upfront approach.

Much more than just crunching numbers, Stephen’s focus is ensuring he delivers consistent results year on year for every client. His depth of knowledge and expertise ensures he can deliver tangible results to business owners, assisting them at every step to reach their goals.

Recent projects have included redesigning internal financial reporting processes, ensuring Company Directors have accurate and timely financial information, assisting them in sound decision making and relationship building with key stakeholders. Additionally, he completed a significant financial due diligence project for a major capital asset acquisition, resulting in an improved outcome for the client with greater economies of scale and efficiency, improved pricing and a substantial competitive advantage for his client over a long term period.
